In addition to the increased performance, the engine also works more efficiently and gives you the endurance you need in order to reach the next stage finish. The vari-able camshaft control BMW ShiftCam is an entirely new feature – it gives you sover-eignty in every engine speed range and gives the opposed-twin engine an unprec-edented culture. BMW Motorrad is entering new territory with the BMW ShiftCam variable camshaft control system. What does this mean for you? That means smoother running in the low speed range and high torque in each speed range. This results in a balanced engine running that gives you even more confidence when riding your R 1250 GS Adventure. The engine capacity is now 1254 ccm. This performance increase is clearly noticeable on any terrain with 100kW (136 hp) and 143 Nm max. torque at 6,250 rpm. The high torque curve, the elasticity with impressive sprint qualities and the sovereign acceleration let you experience your adventures with even more in-tensity. The revision of the engine with BMW Shiftcam ensures an optimal combus-tion process and thus an overall increase in energy efficiency.

The design of the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure conveys pure robustness. With a new galvanized radiator cowl and a new cover of the oil intake snorkel, the front is even more durable. Both the redesigned engine protection bar and the tank pro-tection bar round off the impressive appearance.

Connectivity with high-resolution colour display as standard.

Connect your smartphone to your bike via Bluetooth. The 6.5-inch TFT display shows you everything about your motorcycle and offers you in conjunction with the smartphone app additional features such as navigation, music and telephony.

Ideal for adventure in the mountains: the BMW R 1250 GS is equipped as stand-ard with Hill Start Control (HSC), making it easier for you to ride off on slopes.

Atacama soft luggage system

The Atacama soft luggage system made of a robust material mix convinces with clever details and plenty of storage capacity. The luggage roll holds 40 litres, the side pockets a total of 60 litres. In addition to the waterproof liner, various storage compartments offer additional space. Sturdy carry handles and quick-release fasteners for easy mounting on the motorcycle ensure a secure grip and extremely practical handling.

Rally seat

The one-piece high rally seat is tailor-made for offroad use and offers tall drivers maximum freedom of movement when off-road. There is even room for the pillion passenger. The sleek, ergonomic and multi-coloured design make the rear end of the machine look particu-larly sporty.

NAVIGATION AND COMMUNICATION.

BMW Motorrad Navigator VI

The multifunctional Navigator VI makes route planning child’s play. The system with a 16 GB flash memory and five-inch touchscreen always reliably leads the way. Thanks to the circular polarizing filter (CPOL), the waterproof display can be easily read even in direct sunlight. The high-resolution screen in a smartphone-like housing provides all the essential information and provides the necessary overview in every situation. Numerous additional functions make planning and touring an exciting experience. This allows routes to be cre-ated according to personal preferences in order to enjoy rides on winding and low-traffic side roads. On unfamiliar terrain, the „round trip“ option is particularly helpful, as it will al-ways reliably end back at the starting point. The Bluetooth connection to the BMW Motor-rad communication system and the optional Smartphone Link app enable pure multimedia entertainment on the move: navigation announcements, telephone calls and music streaming, as well as the retrieval of weather forecasts or traffic jam information are no problem. Along with the navigation preparation, further functions like „My Motorcycle“ are also available, and it can also be controlled using the multi-controller on the handlebar. Anyone who has opted for the pre-installed map data is always up-to-date thanks to the lifelong, free map updates.

The sturdy aluminium enduro engine guard effectively protects the bottom of the engine from stone chipping and damage. The aluminium guard, which was specially designed for offroad use, is 2 mm thick and significantly wider and longer than the standard engine guard. Its special shape reinforces the machine’s striking offroad look.
